The 4th Insight Student Conference will take place on September 8, 2017 in the Western Gateway Building, University College Cork, Ireland. The theme of the conference is “Connecting the Centres” and the goals are to:
Cyberpsychology is the study of the human mind and behaviour in the context of human-technology interaction. It encompasses all psychological phenomena that are associated with or affected by emerging technology. The rise of technology has brought forth many new ways of expressing ourselves and interacting with the world and each other. Our behaviour online is different from how we behave offline – sometimes drastically, at other times in subtle ways. The effects of anonymity, computer mediated communication, immersion in other worlds, public self expression, constant availability through mobile technology, cyberbullying, health behaviours, and criminal behaviour are just some of the factors that are studied by cyberpsychology researchers.
